There are a lot of family fun pet events in June for you to attend. If your dog is a model, clown, or athlete, why not show her off? Some events have contests that you and your dog can enter and others are marathons or walk-a-thons that help your local shelter. There are also events where you can check out the latest and greatest new pet products, food, and learn more about animals welfare, you might even find a new friend to bring home if the event has an adoption booth.

If you’re around or near any of the following cities, head to one of the events listed below and be ready for fun:

What: Red Dog Dock Dogs
Where: 274 Southampton Street Boston, MA
When: June 16 and June 17
Time: 11am to 6pm
Admission: Free

Want to see dogs doing amazing tricks? Dock Dogs is an event where you can see dogs jumping 20 to 30 feet into a swimming pool. It’s an amazing demonstration of the athletic ability of dogs. There will be representatives from some well known pet companies such as Blue Buffalo, Earthborn, and Vest-A-Dog who will be giving out free samples and answer questions about their products. Enjoy watching dogs jump and dive while snacking on some delicious food from The Slush King and Paris Creperie as well.

What: Dallas Pet Expo
Where: 1200 S 2nd Ave Dallas, TX

Bring your pet to the expo! You can meet Shorty Rossi, the star of “Pit Boss” on Animal Planet. The expo is inside at the Tower Building in Fair Park. Admission is free and all animals are welcome as long as they are ok with crowds and other animals. Bring proof of vaccines and use a non-retractable leash for your dog. If you bring your cat or lizard, use a pet harness so they don’t get lost or run away.

There will be over 100+ pet friendly booths for you to check out and live demonstrations of agility, obedience training, pet care, and activism. There will also be an adoption booth if you are considering adding another buddy to your family. You’ll find all the information you need if you’re a pet owner, or thinking of becoming a new one.

What: Georgia Dachshund Races
Where: Jim Miller Park 2245 Callaway Road SW Marietta, GA
When: June 23 and June 24
Time: 11am to 5pm
Admission: $5

If I could go to this event, I would. It would be hysterical. Imagine a bunch of dachshunds running down a track to the finish line with their long bodies, short legs, and unique little gallop. It would be so fun. The event benefits DREAM Dachshund Rescue, a non-profit rescue in Atlanta. The weekend event will have races, costume contests, nose contests, and an obstacle course. You can register your own little dachshund to run a course. All races are ruled and sanctioned by the National Dachshund Circuit Races.

    Hi Kathy!
Could you please remind people as much in advance as you can, about “Take Your Dog To Work Day?!”
It’s a great way to raise awareness of the positive effects Dogs have on human beings, and if your Dog was a rescue, go in prepared with web links or phone numbers to pass out to anyone in the office who thinks your Fur Friend is ‘All That!’
