Events Happening in September

Looking for something to do? There are a lot of pet friendly events happening in Sept around the country that you and the family can spend a day at and have fun. Here’s a few that promist to be awesome.

4th Annual Paws in the Park 2011 – If you’re near Erie, Pa head to Frontier Park on Sept 17 between 10am and 4pm for a free pet friendly event. Bring your dog and join the fun. There will be live music, food for you and your furry friend, vendors selling some swanky awesome pet products, and lots of information about being a responsible pet owner. This event benefits Therapy Dogs United Inc. and helps promote pet education and safety. There will also be a parade and a blessing of the pets. For more information, call 814-456-3647.

Long Island Pet Expo in the Park is on Sept 17 and 18 from 11am to 7pm and it’s free! It’s in Babylon at Tanner Park and will have a ton of activities for kids and adults. Bring your dog and enter her in the costume contest, walk her in the parade, and see if she can pass the canine good citizen test! There will be demonstrations of agility, tricks, and much more. Dove Lewis Dogtoberfest is on Sept 24 from 11am to 5pm at Lucky Lab over on SE Hawthorne in Portland, Or. It’s a big dog wash fest. The suggested donation is $10 and benefits the Dove Lewis Emergency Hospital. Why not head on down, get your dog scrubbed clean, and grab a drink? There will be live music, great beer, and food as well as lots of soggy pups. For more information visit their website.

Hound Dog Blues Festival is being held on Sept 24 at Chandler Park in Oklahoma, OK from 10am to 10pm. All money raised benefits the Tulsa SPCA and costs only $25 for a day of music from the Terry Quiett Band, Chris Watson Band, and Little Joe McLerran Trio. There will be great food, great music, and many vendors. There will also be local musicians such as Danny Buck, Wandy Watson, and Jennifer Marriot and the Bohemians. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and get ready to hear some great tunes with your furry buddy. For more information and to buy tickets visit the website.
