The month is half way done but there’s plenty of pet friendly events for you and the family to participate in and spend the day playing, learning, and having fun with your pet. Most of these events benefit your local rescue organizations or humane societies and help pets in need.

Pawlooza – Festival for Dogs
When: August 20, 2011
Where: Plunkett Estate 9282 Elviage Drive, London, ON, Ca
Time: 10am to 6pm
Admission: Free (pay for parking)
Benefits: Animal Rescue Foundation and LEADS

Pawlooza is a huge festival for animals lovers with attendance that tops 15,000 people each year. It’s a dog friendly festival so you can bring your pooch and shop for a fancy new collar, doggles, or even get your dog a psychic reading. There will be over 100 vendors, some contests, and demos for you to watch. Also, you’ll find plenty of literature and booths that strive to educate and make us all better pet owners like a First Aid for pets, training schools, and agility schools.

If you don’t have a dog, there will also be several rescue organizations who will have some a few of their adoptable dogs with them. Maybe you’ll end up being a forever home at the end of the day to some wonderful pup!
