There are so many cool events for you and your pets to head to and meet others who love their pets just like you this upcoming April. Spring is here and it’s time to run, jump, and wag your tails!

Check out the events listed and if you’re not near any of these, check with your local humane society and newspaper for local pet events.

Pet Events in the USA – April 2016

Paws in the Park

When: April 2, 2016 10am to 3pm

This is the 1st annual dog walk and festival in Keller. The walk benefits the Apollo Support & Rescue group. The walk is a about a 1.25 mile around beautiful Keller Town Center Park. All dogs must be on non-retracting leashes and up to date on shots.

2016 Sacramento SPCA Doggy Dash

When: April 9, 2016

Put on your running sneakers, stretch, and grab your best friend for the Doggy Dash! After the walk/jog, check out the vendors and other festivities at the Bark at the Park Festival, featuring the Ruff Mutter contest or participate in a variety of other doggy contests.

Pawfest

When: April 9, 2016 9am to 2pm

Rain or shine, the Pawfest is scheduled to happen at Largo Central Park. Bring the whole family, but your dog should be on leash, and play games, watch the demonstrations, and check out the vendors and other booths. A play area will be set up for dogs and kids to play and a cafe for you all to sit, relax, and eat. The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis club and proceeds raised will help support the local animal rescue groups.

Mid-Atlantic Spring DoxieFest 2016

When: April 16, 2016 12pm to 5pm
Where: 608 Tollgate Road, Bel Air, MD

Come on down to Heavenly Waters Equestrian Park and show your support for the Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue. This year’s event will feature live music, vendors, food trucks, and contests. If you have a little doxie, bring her/him and enter the weiner race! There is also going to be a photo booth where your dog can be photographed in the Oscar Meyer Weiner car. This event promises to be fun and great for the whole family.

17th Annual Boardwalking for Pets

When: April 23, 2016 8:30am to 12pm
Where: 803 S. Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD

Walk on your own, with a team or bring your pet for a fun day on the boards to help the animals or adopt a shelter dog for the day by making arrangements prior to the walk. Rain or shine come out and walk for a cause. There will also be games, contests, and food. Plus, if you have a photo of your cat, bring it, and you may win the prize for “Cutest Cat!”
