The shortest month of year is going to be one of the most pet friendly ones ever! There are so many cool events for you and your pets to head to and meet others who love their pets just like you do. It might be cold outside, but that shouldn’t keep you from having fun. From dog shows, to adoption events, to fundraisers, February is going to be a busy!
Check out the events listed and if you’re not near any of these, check with your local humane society and newspaper for local pet events.
With so many pet events across the country, this list can’t be quite comprehensive – at least not without your help. Is your pet event, or one in your area, missing from our list? Please help us update this list to keep it current by leaving the information in a comment below!

Fun for the whole family, especially your puppy! Peptic Unleashed is going to have a small football field set up where puppies can come and romp, tumble, play, and make new friends. Bring your little one to join in the fun. Make sure to also bring proof that your pup is up to date with vaccines. It’ll be a nice way to spend an afternoon and avoid the cold and snow.
Therapy Dog Intro and Eval Class
The classes run for 4 weeks and during that time your dog will learn how to be a polite, well-mannered, and professional therapy dog. Your dog will learn how to agree people on crutches, in wheelchairs, and walking with a cane. Your dog must be vaccinated, be at least 11 months old, and have received and earned their CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certificate.
Chariots of Fur 5K Walk/Run
Run or walk with or without dog (bring your pup!) and help raise money for pets who need medical care. The top racers will receive a prize. After the 5K, check out all the local vendors who will be there and enter the raffles, get some hot chocolate, and learn how to do DOGA (yoga with your dog).
V-day Brunch: Adopt Some Love
Come on down and meet some adoptable pets who are looking for their valentine. It might be you! Bring your dog and have brunch in the Zen Garden. You and your dog may find a new love and expand your family. It will be a nice day of dining, meeting other pet lovers, and spending some time with your furry BFF.
Three designers will be featured as dogs strut their stuff wearing the sharpest and coolest designs. All the proceeds go to the local animal shelter. There will be a runway show, a silent auction, and pets available for adoption. Come for the show and go home with some new friends… maybe a new family member.
