Christmas is coming and cities around the country are starting to celebrate the season with tree lighting ceremonies, Santa Claus appearances at the local malls, and lots of hot chocolate in the grocery stores. Seattle will be having their first annual tree lighting ceremony and pet event benefitting homeless pets.
On December 2, the Pan Pacific Hotel and 2200 will host a celebration in South Lake Union that will benefit the Seattle Humane Society. The event starts at 6pm and will include a tree lighting ceremony, live entertainment, and a canine costume contest. You will also be able to have your pet’s photo taken and meet some of the great pets available for adoption at the humane society in their mobile adoption unit.
The winner of the costume contest will receive a bag of doggy treats from Scraps Dog Bakery!
If you’re looking for somewhere to bring your dog before the evening’s event, head on over to Magnuson Dog Park located at 7400 Sand Point Way. It’s 9 acres of park bliss for your dog to run, romp, and burn off all that energy. It even has a section for small dogs and older dogs to play.
