If you live in Portland, OR or will be passing through during the weekend of May 5th and May 6th this year, check out The Northwest Pet and Companion Fair. It’s Portland’s largest pet adoption and pet social expo and this is its 11th year showcasing wonderful pets looking for new homes, pet products, and and more. There will be exhibits and events scheduled for both days that range from products and stores to international brands of treats, clothing, and toys.
Some of the entertainment that will be at the expo:
A walk through aviary
An exotic animal display
Petting zoo for the family
Facepainting, bounce house, and a slide for the kids
There will also be a tournament that you can enter your dog into with a cash prize of $200. Your dog must out-sniff the other dogs in the truffle hunt. Your pets are welcome as long as they are on leash, friendly, and up to date with vaccines. If your pet doesn’t like big crowds and busy places, leave her home and bring everyone else.
The Northwest Pet and Companion Fair is 100% locally owned and operated. The headquarters are in Portland, OR and the goal is to bring national members of the pet industry to Portland while also creating an environment where local companies can promote and educate the community. Aside from a weekend of seeing some amazing animals from rescue groups and shelters who need new homes, great toys and other products, and having fun, you can also help Animeals on Wheels. Bring a can of dog or cat food and contribute to the pet food drive.
The fair runs from 10am to 6pm Sat May 5th and Sun May 6th.
Adults is $8
Kids 6 to 12yrs old $4, and Kids under 5 are free
Pets are a $1 or a can of pet food for the Animeals on Wheels.
It is being held at the Portland Metropolitan Expo Center located a 2060 North Marine Drive. Parking will be available or you can ride the Yellow Line to the Expo Center.
