Upcoming Bird Events and Classes for the Remainder of June 2010

Bird enthusiasts who are making plans for the remainder of June should take a look at these bird-related shows and classes that are going on throughout the country.

There are a few useful sessions on how to communicate and understand your parrot, along with a handful of general bird fairs that sell all types of species, food and equipment.

Building a Positive Relationship with your Parrot

Animall

Cary, North Carolina

June 26

Animall will be hosting this parrot class from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, and it will cover ideas and techniques on how to relate and communicate to your pet parrot. It will also touch on some unique tricks to teach parrots and other interesting activities.

Southwest Virginia Bird Club Fair

St Elias Catholic Church

Ronoake, Virginia

June 26

This bird fair will be the 16th annual round by the Southwest Virginia Bird Club. It will go on from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, and will cost $4 or free for children younger than 12. It will feature several bird-related seminars, along with live birds, toys and cages for sale.

This will be a comprehensive parrot class for new and experienced owners that will go on from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. They will cover topics that are very useful to know, including safety, behavior, nutrition, health, enrichment and more.

Joliet Bird Fair and Sale

Knights of Columbus Hall

Joliet, Illinois

June 27

This Illinois bird fair will make its way to Joliet on the 27th from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. Admission is $3, or free for children under 9. All sorts of birds will be for sale, from love birds to finches to canaries, as well as assorted discounted items for birds and bird lovers.

Everybody’s Bird Mart

Los Angeles County Fairplex, Building Number 4

Pomona, California

June 27

Everybody’s Bird Mart will occur from 9:30 AM-4:00 PM. Admission will cost $7, or free for children under 11. Lots of different birds will be on display and sale, and there will also be opportunities to buy toys, vitamins, nest boxes, cages, perches, seed and lots of other products.

Exotic Bird Fair and Sale

National Guard Armory

West Palm Beach, Florida

June 27

This bird show will go on from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, which will cost $4 for anyone over 10. A variety of different birds and discounted bird products will be on sale.
