If you plan to head down to Florida in March, maybe you and your dog can check out, or even participate in, some of these fun events. They all have charitable causes!

Bark in the Park Walk for Animals

Al Lopez Park

Tampa, Florida

March 6

This will be the 22nd annual event, which is intended to raise money for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Humans and dogs are encouraged to dress up in Irish and St Patrick’s themed clothing! This event will last from 8:30 AM-12:00 PM.

Big Bend Barkfest

Wakulla High School

Crawfordville, Florida

March 6

This will be a fun event for the whole family, and dogs are invited. It will cost $5 for adult admission, and free for children under 5. There will be all sorts of activities going on, such as wiener racing, an agility demonstration, a frisbee dog demonstration and assorted breed demonstrations. It will go on from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, and is meant to raise money for the homeless dogs in the Big Bend shelters.

Walk for the Animals

Huizenga Plaza

Fort Lauderdale, Florida

March 6

This will be a one-mile walk, and participants should raise a minimum of $150 to donate to the Humane Society of Broward County. Registration starts at 8:00 AM, and the walk begins at 10:00 AM. It is a dog-friendly event!

Land O Lakes Recreation Complex

Lutz, Florida

March 6

This event will be run by the Central Florida Dog & Disc Club, where registration will start at 10:00 AM, and then the event will go on from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. Dogs on leash are allowed to watch along with you, if they are not particpating. Entry is free!

Fifth Annual Dog Lover’s Day

Adventure Landing

Jacksonville Beach, Florida

March 13

This dog lover’s day event will feature breakfast with Scooby Doo! It will go on outdoors from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, and admission is free. It is meant to benefit the animal shelters in Duval County, Clay County and Saint John’s County. There will be frisbee dog shows, adoption services, vendors, pet services, games and bouncy house for children. All dogs used in the demonstrations have been rescued out of shelters.

Those who are interested can purchase a Scooby Doo Buffet Breakfast for $10.99. If you bring in a new bag of dog food, you can redeem two free games of mini golf for that day.
