There are several dog-friendly and dog-related activities taking place in these two states within the next few weeks. Whether people are into drinking cocktails, learning tricks or watching dog competitions, all these options are possible!

Canine Cocktail Hour

Midtown Atlanta, Georgia

September 7

This Canine Cocktail Hour will take place from 5:00-8:00 PM, and there will be complimentary treats and water for dogs, along with specialty cocktails and food for purchase for their owners.

Mutts and Martinis

W Atlanta Midtown

Atlanta, Georgia

September 8

The Mutts and Martinis event will go on in the Living Room of the W Atlanta Midtown from 6:00-9:00 PM. There will be a light bites menu and cocktails, and this will benefit the Atlanta Pet Rescue.

Bow Wow Meow Birthday Bash

Grant Park Pavilions

Atlanta, Georgia

September 12

This will be a birthday bash for Atlanta Pet Rescue’s 10th anniversary. Tickets cost $10 for anyone over the age of 12, and the party will last from 4:00-7:00 PM. There will be birthday cake, food, games, prizes and more fun.

Low Cost Rabies and Microchip Clinic

Mansell Oaks Plaza

Roswell, Georgia

Small Dog Rescue and Humane Society will put on this clinic from 12:00-4:00 PM, providing discount vaccinations and microchippings.

Huntsville Obedience Training Club’s Dog Fair

Monte Sano State Park

Huntsville, Alabama

September 25

This will be the 8th annual fair brought on by this organization, and it will occur from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. This event will have a wide array of hands-on activities and demonstrations for humans and people, along with vendors selling dog-related items. There is a $5 parking fee to attend.

Lake Lanier Pet Fest

Laurel Park

Gainesville, Georgia

September 25, 26

The Lake Lanier Pet Fest will happen on Saturday from 9:00 AM-7:00 PM, and on Sunday from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM. It is meant to benefit the Hall County Animal Shelter, as well as to educate the public on responsible pet ownership. The main event at this festival will be the Dixie Dock Dogs dock diving competition, and there will also be contests, games for kids and pets, an adoption tent and live music. Parking for this festival is $5.

Pets in the Park

Amelia Park

Saraland, Alabama

October 2

This will be the 2nd Annual Pets in the Park, which will be from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM. There is free admission, and this event will feature a pet parade, an extreme dog makeover, demonstrations, pet photography, food, music and other fun.
