There are lots of fun events and classes going on around Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Some of the Petcos are holding lectures, and there are other playgroups, festivals and hygiene resources.

Second Annual Spring Pet Days

This two day event will go on from 7:00 AM-4:00 PM; it is $2 admission, or free for children under 12. Many rescue organizations and non profits will be there with animals up for adoption. They will also have guest speakers and educators who will tell the audience about the many important aspects of owning a pet, such as spaying and neutering. There will also be pet related vendors selling projects, and experts to ask any questions you might have. There will be lots of food, and the event has wheel chair access.

This event will be hosted by Edna’s Salon and Spa in Old Town Newhall, which will be a fundraising and adoption festival. It will go on from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, and there will be some cute activities like a pet fashion show and animal artwork, along with some spa and grooming services for pets. It is a benefit for the Castaic Animal Shelter.

From 6:00-9:00 PM, Pussy and Pooch will hold a monthly dog mixer social hour. There will be food and drink, and dogs will get to interact with other dogs in a safe, indoor environment. Dogs can be off-leash while they play, so long as they are supervised by owners.

Cats and dogs can come down from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM to get their teeth cleaned. There will be specially trained dental hygienists who relax the pets prior to cleaning. It costs $110; limited space is available.

This Petco will host a free play time for dogs at 4:00 PM. Dogs will be able to socialize, while being monitored by the certified dog trainer.

At 5:00 PM, you can go to Petco for this free lecture on how to communicate effectively with your dog!

Free Seminar: Loose Leash Walking

At 6:00 PM, you can head over to Petco for a seminar on positive reinforcement techniques and how to walk the dog politely using a leash. It will discuss matters such as how dogs pull on the leash.
