There are a number of events happening this May that you and your dog can participate in together. As the weather gets nicer more and more outdoor family activities that include pets are taking shape and are great ways to bond with your pet, learn more about what’s best for your furry friends, and a way to have fun and meet other pet owners.
If you’re in Fort Mill, SC head down to the ballpark and see the Charlotte Knights play with your family, including your dog on May 1. There will be a pre-game pet parade at 1:45pm and a costume contest during the game with prizes for the winners.
The game starts around 2:15pm and there vendors, pet adoptions, and of course, hot dogs and soda! A percentage of the tickets sold are being donated to the Humane Society of York County.

On May 7 from 9am to 2pm at Corrine Commons in Orlando, Fl you can enter your dog in the 4th Annual Doggie Derby. The derby divides dogs into 4 weight divisions and the winner of each race advances to the next round until there are 4 final champions in each division.
Admission is $15 per food and there are other activities for your pup to take part in as well such as canine massage, pet caricatures, and vendors. There is also going to be face painting and other activities for children and families. The money raised from the Doggie Derby benefit the local animal shelters and charities in Orlando.

Pawfest 2011 will be happening on May 7 at Tribble Mill Park in Lawrenceville, GA from 9:30am to 4pm. Pawfest strives to raise awareness about pet-related issues as well as celebrate the bond between us and our pets. The festival will start with a 3 mile hike.
The other events scheduled are demonstrations by the K9 drill team and nosework, a contest, and you’ll be able to get your dog microchipped and updated on vaccines if she’s overdue. There will be also be Canine Good Citizen testing, silent auctions, and pony rides for the kids.

In Randolph, NJ there’s a spring singles event for those between 25 and 55 who love dogs and are looking to meet other dog lovers. It’s on May 12 at Morris K9 Campus located at 1 Aspen Drive.
The event starts at 7pm and will have snacks, drinks, and speed dating. The price of admission is $10 per person and $5 per dog. Space is limited and you need to register in advance.
