This summer will be filled with all sorts of lovely pet events for all of those who will be in Michigan. There will be cat adoption events, dog races, low cost-vaccination clinics and other fun things to do!
Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash

The Marquette Sunrise Dog Dash will be part of the greater 4th of July Festivities, all themed under “Freedom Rocks.”
The Dog Dash will occur on the island of Picnic Rocks, starting at 8:00 AM. Registration will go on 7:15-7:45 AM, and costs $10 for entry. They will give awards to the four fastest dogs, and there will also be a dog costume contest following the race.

These two Pet Supplies Plus locations will be hosting the Cat Days of Summer. There will be over 200 cats and kittens up for adoption, which have all been health checked and vaccinated.
Woofstock Fest

The Woofstock Fest will last from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM, and will feature entertainment, food and assorted activities. Families and their dogs are welcome to attend. It will be a benefit for the SPCA of SW Michigan.
Low-Cost Vaccinations and Microchipping

The Michigan Humane Society will be putting on a low-cost vaccination and microchip clinic at Canine to Five from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. There will be low-cost vaccinations against Distemper, Rabies, Parvovirus and other diseases for cats and dogs of appropriate age. Owners can also pick up pet licenses at this clinic. Animals must be leashed or in carriers, and appropriate proof of low income is necessary.

This will be the fourth annual Pet Fest, put on by the Pet Emporium. It is the largest pet festival in southeastern Michigan, and will go on from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Admission itself is free, but parking is $2. There will be a variety of rescues and shelters, along with demonstrators, vendors and exhibitors.
Bully Summer Splash Bash

The Bully Summer Splash Bash will take place from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, and there will be all sorts of fun activities, including dock diving, weight pulling, dog agility, dog scootering and more. It will go on from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, and is meant to benefit the pit bull adoption program of the Dearborn Animal Shelter.


I have found that the better hotels in Muskegon are not pet-friendly. What’s up with that?

I saw on tv that there was a weinerfest (hot dog, dog) this week end I dont remember what city anyone know?
Dies anyone know of any pet festivites going on? I make pet items and woyld like info on setting up a booth. I make recycled toys (rope toys & catnip socks) and for everyone purchased I will donate one to a local shelter.
