New York State and New York City have a bunch of fun pet events going on in the next couple weeks! They certainly are not short of variety, ranging from balls to new-age chakra alignment to kitten workshops!

An Introduction to Animal Chakra Healing

New York Open Center

New York, New York

March 26

Have a new age pet? This will be a helpful workshop from 7:00-10:00 PM with Margrit Coates, who will explain how to sense your animal’s chakras and how to help balance your animal, mentally, physically and emotionally. She will explain how to sense things in your animal by observing its coat, muscles, stretching habits and shaking patterns. It is $30 for nonmembers.

Riverhead, New York

March 26

This will be a fancy event which will occur from 7:30-10:30 PM. It is $40 admission, which includes a drink and light fare. There will be music, Chinese auction and wine. All of the proceeds will go to animals in need.

Hands-on-Healing For Animals

New York Open Center

New York, New York

March 27

This all-day class will take place from 10:00 AM-5:30 PM, and costs $130 for non-members. It will cover issues on how to analyze pets’ mental, emotional and physical condition, and feeling out their energy. It will also cover how to help when your animal is ill.

Eastern Egg-stravaganza and Spring Fling

Little Shelter Animal Rescue & Adoption Center

Huntington, New York

March 27

This event will feature professional photographers where you can have your child’s Easter picture taken for $25. It will also feature an Easter Egg Hunt, children’s games and a bake sale. It will go on from 12:00-5:00 PM at the shelter.

Kitten Palooza! Bottle Feeding and Care of Orphaned Kittens


New York, New York

April 6

This will be part of a series of kitten workshops, which will go on at the Upper East Side’s ASPCA at 6:30-9:30 PM. It will cover all aspects on how to bottle feed and take care of little orphaned kittens, as well as the stages of kitten care.

Spring Dog Fest


Valley Cottage, New York

April 11

This event will take place at Dognique, from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM (rate date April 18). It will feature many fun activities, including raffles, a rally obedience course, training demonstrations, free product samples and $8 nail clippings. They will have food vendors with human food, which will all be fish, shrimp or chicken. Several of the vendors there will also give information on their products. There will even be Girl Scout cookies for sale!
