There are lots of creative and fun events going on in Oregon throughout the current holiday season. Whether Northwesterners are looking for pictures with Santa, puppy romps, pub crawls or reading sessions with dogs, lots of options are available!

Beer for Pooches Holiday Pub Crawl

The Beer for Pooches Holiday Pub Crawl will start at the Laurelwood NW public house. Admission to this event is $30, and that will cover a T-shirt, one drink ticket, other drink specials and possible raffle prizes. The money is meant to benefit the Oregon Humane Society. This pub crawl will go on from 12:00-7:00 PM.

Santa Paws Party at Hotel Monaco

The Santa Paws Party will happen from 2:00-4:00 PM in downtown Portland, in order to benefit the Oregon Humane Society. Dogs, cats and humans can take photos with Santa Claus. There will also be opportunities to decorate dog cookies, or to shop for goodies at the toy bar.

Dog Tale Time is a chance for children to read books aloud to trained canines. Youngsters can go there from 2:00-3:00, but parents must pre-register them by calling 541-682-8316.

Memorial Art Community Workshop

The Memorial Art Community Workshop will be an opportunity for those who have lost a pet to express their grief and also be constructive through the means of arts and crafts. This workshop goes on the second Sunday of every month. From 1:00-2:30 PM, families are welcome, and from 3:00-4:00 PM, it is meant for adult participants over the age of 16.

Puppy Romp

The OHS Puppy Romp session is a great opportunity to socialize young dogs while they are supervised by trained staff. The romp will go on from 4:00-5:00 PM, and is $15 to participate.

Another Puppy Romp is happening at this doggie daycare center. It is for dogs over 10 weeks, but under 6 months. The one-hour sessions from 1:00-2:00 PM can cost $8 per individual time, or $40 for six times.

Newberg, Oregon

This Yappy Hour will also be a New Year’s Mingle from 5:00-8:00. People who join this celebration can take advantage of the free samples and a chance to win a raffle prize. If they buy a bottle, part of the proceeds will go towards the Newberg Animal Shelter.
