There are plenty of pet-related activities going on in Oregon, especially in the Portland area. They include puppy and small dog play groups, carnivals, wine events, dog washes and massage classes.
Small Dog Playgroup
Oregon Humane Society: Manners Hall
This small dog play session hosted by OHS will take place from 4:30-5:30 PM. Admission is $15, and dogs must be under 20 lbs and over 5 months in age.
The Puppy Romp is meant for dogs who are 10 weeks to 6 months in age, and up-to-date in vaccinations. It will go on from 1:00-2:00 PM, and it costs $8 for a single time, or $40 for a six-pack package. The Romp is a great place for young puppies to learn to be social.
Pours for Paws
Domaine Meriwether Winery
Basic Dog Massage for Owners
Sellwood Dog Company
This class will go on from 7:15-8:45 PM, and will be $45 to register (call 503-380-4487 to RSVP). This session will teach dog owners how to effectively calm dogs during stressful times, relieve their joints and other useful skills.
PetUtopia’s 1st Annual Fall Carnival
Greater Portland Bible Church
This Fall Carnival will include T-Touch sessions for pets and people, confidence runs, agility demonstrations, K9 Nosework classes, ask the vet, pet massages, pet portraits, dog nail trimmings, a session on gardening advice for working with pets and more. There will also be activities for children. This event will occur from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM, and admission is a suggested donation of new pet food or new/slightly used pet gear.
The OHS is putting on a dog wash at the Whole Foods on NE Fremont and 15th, and the services will be volunteered by Aussie Pet Grooming. The prices range on the size of the dog, and are a suggested donation to benefit the OHS. Dogs will be treated to shampooing, rinsing and quick drying.
Waggy Hour will take place at the trendy Jupiter Motel, and humans and pets are welcome to enjoy fun activites, wines, food and pet-related art from 6:00-8:00 PM. It is a benefit for OHS, and some pets will be there up for adoption.
