There is a variety of different pet events going on soon in the Bay Area of California. There is one fancy film screening, along with a book signing with a famous cat author. Other options are expressing your artistic side with pet mosaics, or taking your puppy in for a play session!
Dogpolis Dog Daycare and Boarding
San Francisco, California
This event will be a glamorous sequel to last year’s sold-out fundraiser in Oakland. There will be a double feature of SNIFF and MINE, and you can bring your dog along to watch these movies!
You and your dog can also enjoy the rolling out of the green carpet, dog massages, “pupperrazzi,” a dog bar, and more fun. You will also be able to meet the directors of these films, as well as mingle with other Bay Area dog owners and movie lovers. Some of the proceeds will go towards local animal organizations.
Doors open at 4:30 PM, and the first movie starts at 5:00 PM. Everything will wrap up around 10:00 PM. You can buy tickets online.
Book Signing Event with Rosie Sorenson
Daly City, California
Award-winning author Rosie Sorenson will be at PetSmart, where you can pick up an autographed copy of her book, “They Had Me at Meow: Tails of Love from the Homeless Cats of Buster Hollow.” Reading this book creates awareness about feral cats and caring for them. Sorenson will donate part of the proceeds to cat rescue shelters. She will be there from 12:00 noon-4:00 PM.
Mosaic Pet Portraiture Workshop
February 20, 21
This workshop will be held from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM on both days. It costs $100, and all of the materials are included. All levels are welcome to this session; you do not need any mosaic experience. All of the portraits will be based on photographs. They will instruct you on how to use mosaic tools, and how to turn a photograph into a mosaic art piece. The class will be at a private studio at 616 Hayes Street.

El Cerrito, California
From 4:00 PM-5:00 PM, you can take your puppy (ages 8-16 weeks) to Petco for a safe play session, where it can learn to socialize with other puppies. You must provide proof of your puppy’s vaccinations.
