Indoor Dog Park
Every Saturday, this place holds an indoor playtime session for dogs from 9:00-11:00 AM. It costs $10, and you must download the application form and submit it before you attend the event.
Holiday CARE Fair and Photos with Santa
Unitarian Church of Evanston
This is a holiday and charity event for the Evanston, Illinois animal shelter. You can bring your cat or dog to have their picture taken with Santa! There will also be cookies for sale, arts and crafts, holiday gifts for pets, and a raffle with some awesome prizes like Sox tickets, Cubs tickets and $500 cash. It will go on from 11:00 AM-5:00 PM. You can bring donations of canned food for shelter animals.

Pawsitively Heaven Pet Resort
This event will take place in Chicago Ridge, Illinois, from 6:00 PM-10:00 PM. It is free to enter, but you have to register to be on the guest list. There will be casino and carnival games. There are some deals online you can pre-order. It will be a holiday extravaganza that will feature table games, a raffle, bingo, vendors, dog activities and more. Part of the proceeds will go to the Chicago Ridge Animal Welfare Society. There will be snacks available for purchase at the event.
Pet Loss and Grief Support Group
Anti Cruelty Society’s Education and Training Center
This is a meeting for those who have lost their pets and are mourning. It is a great support environment where you can meet other pet lovers that empathize. This group meets the first and third Thursday of the month, from 6:00 PM-7:30 PM. It is free to attend and to park, but you have to pre-register by calling Tammie Bouschor at (312) 644-8338 extension 344, or by email [email protected].
CCRF’s Pictures with Santa

You can bring your dog, or even your entire family, to have a lovely photo taken with Saint Nick at Dog-a-holics. It costs $30, and you will get a 4″x6″ print of a photo, a goody bag and a 2010 calendar. There will also be complimentary hot chocolate (not dog-friendly!), cookies and coffee. Santa will be there from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM. Reservations are recommended, but you can do a walk-in.
