There are a bunch of great pet activities in West Virginia and Virginia to get involved in, such as adoption shows, dog washes, dog fun days, animal communication workshops and a Westie Walk!
Cocker Spaniel Adoption Show
The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Show will be hosted by the Oldies But Goodies Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Northern Virginia. They will be at Petsmart from 11:00 AM-2:00 PM, and several different dogs will be up for adoption.
Goochland Baptist Church
Dog Days will go on from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, and will be a fun event for dogs and the whole family. People who attend can take advantage of learning from dog trainers and professionals about their pets. There will also be a range of activities, including demonstrations, opportunities for learning about canines, food, water and goodie bags.
Weber’s Pet Supermarket
This will be the Annual Dog Wash brought on by the SPCA of Northern Virginia. Washers will be set up from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, who can take care of bathing, ear cleaning and nail clipping. There will also be T-shirts and magnets for sale.
Morgantown, West Virginia
The Splash Bash will be sponsored by the Animal Friends of North Central West Virginia. It is a donation-based benefit events that will occur from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, and there will be an assortment of fun activities like dog/owner lookalike, best pet trick and a relay across the pool. There will also be door prizes and nail trimming. Leashed dogs and families are welcome to attend and enjoy the end of summer.
Animal Communication Workshop
Fox Hill Bed and Breakfast
This Animal Communication Workshop will be taught by Carol Gurney of the Gurney Institute of Animal Communication. This individual has traveled all over the world and taught her skills, with over 23 years of experience. People can participate in this two-day workshop at Fox Hill by registering in advance on their website, or calling 818-597-1154.
Virginia Westie Walk
Joseph Bryan Park, Pavilion 1
This will be the 5th Annual Virginia Westie Walk, which is meant to benefit the River City Westies. Participants can come with their Westies, or any other breeds of dogs, or just by themselves. There will be many fun activities for humans and dogs.
