Lots of awesome pet expos and events are going on this weekend! They are all family-themed, and some of them even let you bring your pet!
America’s Family Pet Expo
Orange County Fair & Event Center
Costa Mesa, California
This giant pet fair will feature over 1,000 animals!
Admission will be $12, $10 for seniors (60+) $6 for children 6-12 and free for children 5 and under. Its hours will be 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Friday, 10:00 AM-7:00 PM Saturday and 10:00 AM-6:00 PM Sunday.
They will feature dog breed displays and education, dog grooming demonstrations, an adoption makeover and fashion show, a cat show and education, bird interactive fun, fish exhibitions, reptile education, a creepy crawly critter show, a free flight bird show, a kids’ aquarium decorating contest, pet experts, breeders and trainers, a petting zoo, pony rides, and a pet comedy theater.
Scott Smith’s All Animal Expo
DuPage County Fairgrounds
This all-animal expo will go on from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM, and costs $5 for admission for everyone over 11.
It is mostly based around reptiles, but there will also be all sorts of pets, ranging from birds to small exotic animals like sugar gliders, ferrets and hedgehogs. For those into poisonous pets, they will feature some tarantulas and scorpions. For those into normal pets, there will be some kittens and puppies. They will even have some small livestock like chickens. There will be assorted foods for sale, including live crickets and rodents, as well as supplies for sale.
Hamburg Field House
This expo will go on from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, and costs $3 admission for everyone over 5. Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome to attend as well.
This event will feature many different demos, such as on dog obedience and protection, search and rescue and pet CPR. There will also be some cute contests for dogs, like best dressed, biggest, smallest and “my dog will eat that.” Other features include an “ask the trainer” booth, as well as services for dogs like mircochipping, nail clipping, ear cleaning. While your dog is being pampered, you can check out the massage facilities. There will also be a DJ and some prizes.
Northwest Pet & Companion Fair
April 17, 18
This large pet expo will go on Saturday from 9:30 AM-6:00 PM, and on Sunday from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Well-behaved pets are welcome, if you pay $1, or donate a can of pet food. For humans, admission is $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors, and $20 for a family pass. The event will have all sorts of animals and supplies on sale and display.
