The remaining time in July 2010 is not short of amazing reptile events, ranging from expositions to presentations at museums to educational lectures. These activities are happening in several different states.
33rd International Herpetological Symposium
Radisson Suites Hotel Tucson Airport
This four-day event will include many different presentations and lectures regarding herptology, herpetoculture and reptile veterinary medicine. There will also be a variety of vendors selling reptile supplies, artwork and books. It costs $175 to attend the entire event, but people can also pay to attend the individual days.
All Ohio Reptile Show
Moose Lodge 11
The All Ohio Reptile Show will take place from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM, and will cost $4 admission. Lots of non-venomous reptiles and assorted equipment will be on display and sale.
Dixie Reptile Show
The Dixie Reptile Show has a new location at the Zamora Temple. This show will go on from 9:00 AM-3:00 PM. General admission will be $4 for adults, and $1 for children under 12.
Virginia Museum of Natural History
Reptile Day at the Virginia Museum of Natural History will go on from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM. There will be live reptiles, as well as activities, exhibits and crafts for children.
Lone Star Reptile Expos
The Lone Star Reptile Expo will occur from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM on Saturday, and from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM on Sunday. Admission for one day is $7 for adults and $3 for children 10 and under; for two days, it is $12 for adults and $5 for children. Many different types of vendors will be present, selling animals like snakes and bearded dragons, and supplies like crickets, cages and reptile snacks.
Evansville Reptile Show
Indiana National Guard Armory
The Evansville Reptile Show will begin at 10:00 AM both days, and there will be hundreds of reptile experts and breeders set up at the tables. Other vendors will also be selling housing, supplies, feeders and other products. There will also be some door prizes, educational programs and family fun activities at this event.
Lexington Reptile Expo
Lexington Convention Center, Heritage Ballroom
The Lexington Reptile Expo will be from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM, and will cost $4.50 for admission, or free for children under 6. There will be a wide array of discount animals, supplies, feeder insects and rodents. This expo will feature not only reptiles, but also amphibians, birds, spiders, insects, chincillas, sugar gliders and more.
