Great Dane Clubs of the United States

There are many well-developed Great Dane clubs around this country that are affiliated with the Great Dane Club of America. Many of them are involved with specialty shows and meetings, but some also hold some social events like games and picnics. Others are involved with breeders and rescue groups, and provide valuable resources to the public on buying a Great Dane.

Great Dane Club of America

The Great Dane Club of America is a centralized Great Dane club that has been active since 1889 and follows a constitution. They are committed to promoting the quality of the breed, and to promote these dogs to breeders and show judges. They also encourage the health and welfare of the Great Danes. Great Dane Club of Tucson

The Great Dane Club of Tucson, Arizona, has been around since 1968. Their mission is to produce a better Dane, and inform members of methods of “breeding, exhibiting, nutrition and care” of these dogs. They hold monthly meetings, and are also involved in specialty shows.

Those who are interested in joining should attend two meetings and get two sponsors before applying, and then must be voted upon through the existing members.

The Great Dane Club of California

This California Club is there to promote the breed, as well as do things like offer prizes and encourage the exhition of these dogs. They also hold specialty shows and events and try to get everyone to study the Great Dane standard.

Great Dane Club of Michigan

This Great Dane Club holds specialty shows and monthly meetings. They unite people who support the goals of the club, and who are dedicated to Great Dane welfare and the overall improvement of the breed.

Those who are interested in membership can pick up an application at any of the meetings. They also have information on their website about what to do before you buy a Great Dane.

Great Dane Club of Mid Florida

This club holds monthly meetings, as well as two American Kennel Club-sanctioned specialty shows. They also put on “Dane Daze” events, and offer educational programs.

Willamette Valley Great Dane Club

This Oregon club exists to “protect, safeguard and better” this breed, as well as educate all parties about it. It also sponsors a Great Dane Specialty Show every year. Their website has some valuable resources on health.

Great Dane Club of Greater Kansas City

This Missouri club is dedicated to the betterment of the breed, and has been in action for over 30 years. They have regular monthly meetings, as well as specialty shows, fun and obedience matches, rescue parades, Dane Olympics and other social, educational and fundraising events.

Heart of Minnesota Great Dane Club

This Great Dane Club holds monthly meetings, with the exception of December and January. They are linked to some GD breeders around the Midwest, and also does referrals for rescue. They also have some products for sale.

This Texas club meets monthly, and also offer various Great Dane activities for its members. It also holds educational seminars on subjects like medical research, nutrition, grooming techniques and kennel management. They are also involved in Great Dane rescue, and can refer people to breeders. This club is also involved in specialty shows.

Great Dane Club of Western Washington

The Great Dane Club of Western Washington is there to safeguard the breed as well as sponsor an annual specialty show, and is involved in some other events. They also have good information for those interested in buying GD puppies.

Great Dane Club of Milwaukee

This Wisconsin club is “dedicated to the advancement and promotion of the Great Dane breed.” They hold monthly meetings, as well as specialty shows.

Heart of Ohio Great Dane Club

This Great Dane club has been around since 1955, and is there to preserve the standard of the breed. Members consist of Great Dane fanciers who are interested in companion dogs, as well people who possess as show dogs who go to AKC agility, conformation and obedience trials. This club is also connected with some breeders.

Great Dane Club of Western New York

The Great Dane Club of Western New York has been in action since 1947, and is primarily connected to the dogs’ health and well-being. Members can attend monthly meetings, picnics and group activities. This club is also affiliated with specialty shows.

Great Dane Club of Las Vegas

This Nevada club is very developed, and has a monthly newsletter. They are also involved with puppy matches and some specialty shows. They are affiliated with some rescue resources.
