Great Dog Parks in the Atlanta, Georgia Area

There are many dog parks in the Atlanta area. Due to the evergrowing sprawl of the city, they extend to many outskirts and suburbs. Nevertheless, if you plan your trip correctly, you can hit up all the best dog parks in the Atlanta region!

Piedmont Parkpied

Piedmont Park is located in Midtown Atlanta. It is both the biggest park and biggest dog park in the city. It is fenced-in, off-leash and has running water.

Henry Jones Dog Park

This is a four-acre, wooded, off-leash dog park that offers benches. They do not provide water, but there is a community water station you are encouraged to contribute to. This park is located in the Dunwoody area.

Note: This park will be closed for October for maintenance.

Atlantic Station Dog Park

This area contains a small, off-leash area for dogs. It is a good place to socialize, but there isn’t really enough room to play fetch. It has grass and benches.

atlaClarkston Dog Park

This is a small, fenced-in dog park that opened a year ago. It is located in Clarkston, Georgia.

Note: Pitbulls and Rottweilers are not allowed.

Peachtree City Dog Park

This is a two-acre, off-leash park, which is part of the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex, in Peachtree City. It contains mulch ground, trees, access to water, and a separate area for small and older dogs. It is a private park, so you must be a member.

Burger Dog Park

This park is located in Smyrna, Georgia, tucked away in a residential area. It has is fenced, and has benches, grass, and a separate area for big and small dogs off leashes.

Leita Thompson Memorial Dog Park

This off-leash park is located in Roswell, Georgia, and is fenced and has a portable restroom. There are .75 acres for big dogs and .25 acres for small dogs. There are also benches, waste bags, walking trails and water spigots.

Lewis Dog Park

This off-leash park is part of greater Lewis Park, in Marietta, Georgia. It is fenced and has benches.

Graves Dog Park

This off-leash park is located in Norcross, Georgia. It has two acres, is fenced, and has separate areas for big and small dogs. It is grassy, has water fountains, benches, waste bags and even night lighting.

Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area

There are many different sections of this park, but your dog must be on leash. It is great if your dog enjoys running or hiking. It is located fifteen minutes north of downtown Atlanta.

    Renaissance Park Dog Park is open from 6am to 11pm year round. It is located in the Fourth Ward West neighborhood of the Old Fourth Ward in Atlanta, GA and is the first off-leash dog park in this community.
