Hill’s Pet Food Recall

Hill’s Science Diet has recalled 62 bags of Adult Small & Toy Breed dry dog food. The bags of food may have been contaminated with Salmonella. The bags of Adult Small & and Toy Breed dry food were part of a single batch run that was distributed to several vet clinics and stores in California, Hawaii, and Nevada in April and May of 2014.

The recall is limited to the 15.5 lb. bags of Science Diet Adult Small & Toy Breed dry dog food. The product was an accidental release and all the customers have been contacted by Hill’s. As of now, there’s no reports of illness.

Salmonella symptoms may include:

  1. nausea
  2. vomiting
  3. diarrhea
  4. cramping
  5. fever

Your pet may also show signs of being lethargic and a decreased appetite. If you believe your pet has been infected with Salmonella, please see your vet as soon as possible.
