Pet Events for April

There are several events happening this month for pets and their humans to participate in together. Whether you’re looking to do something funny like have a pic with the Easter Bunny or help contribute some time and money to a charity, there are plenty of things to do around the country.

At the Kenton Co. Animal Shelter the Easter Bunny will be there on April 9th from 11am to 3pm posing with pets to take that perfect holiday photo. The photos are $10.00 and the money raised benefits the shelter and Kenton Paw Park. There will also be treats, raffles, and free gift bags for those who come out. If your dog loves bunnies (not in that way) this could be a fun event to participate in.

Kenton Co. Animal Shelter is located at 1020 Mary Laidley Drive in Fort Mitchell, KY. For more info please call 859-356-7400.

If you live in Seneca, SC you may want to mark the date for Strut Your Mutt. It’s an event that hosts over 700 people and has raised money for local animal charities that is held at the YMCS beach. Dog owners are invited to come down with their pup and enjoy demos, games, and activities. There’s a walk in the morning where you can “strut” your mutt around the perimeter of the beach. It’s a day of fun, education, and raising money for a good cause.

Strut Your Mutt is held at YMCA Beach at 275 YMCA Circle, Seneca SC. For more information please call 864-656-2206.

Pets living in Pittsburgh have an opportunity to have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny this weekend at Animal Friends this weekend on Sunday from 11am to 4pm. Photos are 3 per person for $10 and will be mailed to you after the event. If you want to bring your cat or bunny, there is a special time where you can bring them before 11am.

For more information please visit Animal Friends at Animal Friends.

Is your city not listed? Check your local shelter, animal organization, or pet store to see what events may be happening that we missed!

  1. Tri-State Basset Rescue will be holding its annual Boardwaddle on Saturday, 4/16, in Ocean City, NJ. Around 500 basset hounds will be on parade. The event is part of the DooDah parade, featuring bands and appearances by celebrity look alikes. It’s always a fun event! My basset girl, Emily Jean, will be attending her 11th Boardwaddle. More info can be found on Tri-State’s website.
