Pet Fair

This is a free pet fair that will go on from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. It will have lots of dog games and prizes, Canine Good Citizen Testing and low-cost microchipping (you must contact them in advance to partake in this). There will also be some cats and dogs up for adoption.

Dogfest 2010

Dogfest 2010 will be put on by the Baltimore Humane Society. It will feature games, contests, prizes, pets and food. The festival will last from 9:00 AM-6:00 PM, and admission is $10.

Free Seminar: Canine Communication

This seminar will feature several professional dog trainers, and they will go over how dogs communicate through body language and other gestures. It will start at 10:00 AM.

Paw-Paw-Paw Looza

The Mariner’s Museum

Newport News, Virginia

This will be the first annual dog walk based at this museum, and will start at 9:00 AM. It costs $10 for friends of the park, and $15 for non friends.

There will be a 2-mile walk, pet vendors, giveaways, games and contests. Paw-Paw-Paw Looza will be a fundraiser to support future park operations.

This will be an adoption event with many different dogs on display, from 12:30-2:00 PM.

Horse and Hound Wine Festival

This will be the 6th annual Horse and Hound Wine Festival, which will take place from 11:00 AM-6:00 PM. There will be lots of wines for sale, as well as dog agility demonstrations with obstacles, weave holes and tunnels. They will also have a parade of horses. The hounds will test their instincts and skills with lure coursing, where a dog runs a mock rabbit chase, and muskrat races.

The Horse and Hound Wine Festival will have live entertainment, all sorts of food vendors and other vendors selling crafts. This event is $15 at the gate, $10 in advance, $5 for dogs and children, and free for children under 2.

Upcoming Dog Events in Ohio

Those who are spending their summer in Ohio, or who are just visiting the state, have lots of fun opportunities to do things with their dogs. There will be fun activities ranging from Dachshund picnics to dog socials, charities and parties, as well as a workshop to prepare your dog for the loud fireworks noises during Independence Day.

The Fun Dog Show will open at 9:00 AM for registration, and then activities shall start at 10:00 AM, and go until 2:00 PM with the final parade. The show is for all sorts of people and all breeds of dogs. There will be 15 different events with awards for each of them like ribbons and medals. They will also have food for sale.

This party is a benefit for PAX, which is a food bank for pets in Northeastern Ohio.

This huge pet expo will take place from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, and will be a fun family event. Lots of non-profits will be there, like rescue groups and humane societies, and there will also be some entertainment like a reptile performance with alligators and a 15-foot python, a sheep herding demonstration, pet psychic readings (you must bring a picture of your pet) and face painting. You can shop for quality pet foods and baked goods, and other gear like collars, leashes and bowls. You can also find pet obedience trainers and sitters at this show.

It will also of course feature animals, like live cats, dogs, reptiles and birds. Only humans may attend this event. Be sure to check out nearby Fort Myers Beach where you can bring your dog to the beach with you.

This pet expo will go on from 11:00 AM-4:00 PM, with $5 admission or free for children under 5. This post has free parking, and is on a golf course in an air-conditioned building. There will be cats, dogs, parrots, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, ferrets, chinchillas, possums, snakes, turtles, insects and more! They will also be selling food and supplies for all these animals.

BarkFest 2010 will be sponsored by St Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center. It will go on Sunday from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, rain or shine. There will be a dog walk and outdoor festival going on, as well as cats and dogs up for adoption. The festival will have live music, shopping, disc playing, dog massages, dog games, kid games, food, animal communicators, contests, prizes, a grooming station, giveaways, free iced coffee and free wagon rides.

If you register for this event before June 3, this event is $15 per adult, $5 per dog, and free for children under 12. After June 3, it is $20 per adult and $5 per dog.
