Upcoming Reptile Events in the United States and Canada

There are several options for Americans and Canadians who want to check out reptile, amphibian and exotic animal exhibitions during the next two weekends. Many interesting animals will be for sale at these events, along with discounted supplies and activities for such pets.

Ontario Reptile & Exotic Pet Expo

Mississauga, Ontario

November 28

The Ontario Reptile & Exotic Pet Expo will happen in Mississauga from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM. Admission will be $7 for adults, and $5 for children 7-14 years old. A number of vendors will be set up at this event, selling interesting pets from geckos to tarantulas to pythons.

This reptile expo will also be coming to Ottawa in December.

New York Metro Reptile Expo

Westchester County Center

White Plains, New York

November 28

The New York Metro Reptile Expo will take place in White Plains, which is just a short train ride north from Manhattan, into the suburbs. This particular expo will go on from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM. More than 200 vendors will set up tables selling discounted merchandise for up to 50% off of the store price. To attend this event, adults admission costs $10, while children 7-12 cost $4, and children under 7 get in for free.

Northwestern Berks Reptile Show

Hamburg Fieldhouse

Hamburg, Pennsylvania

December 4

The Northwestern Berks Reptile Show will feature over 200 tables of assorted reptiles and amphibians, along with cages, books, rodents, feed and other useful merchandise. Admission is $8, or free for children under 5. The time it will occur is between 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.

Repticon Houston

Repticon Houston will be full of lively presentations, door prizes, live reptiles, feeder animals and assorted reptile-related supplies, art and accessories for sale. On Saturday, the show will be from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM; on Sunday, it will be from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM. Admission for a day is free for children four and under, while adults must pay $10 and children 5-12 must pay $5.

Western Pennsylvania Reptile Expo

The Western Pennsylvania Reptile Expo will happen from 9:00 AM-4:00 PM, and is $5 for anyone above 5 years of age. Dozens of vendors from all around the United States will be present, displaying and selling their snakes, turtles, lizards and spiders.

Upcoming Dog Events in Florida

Those living in or headed down to the Sunshine State within the next few weeks should certainly make some time for the fun dog and family events. Whether people and their pooches are looking for happy hours, charity events, park parties or adopting new friends, plenty of opportunities are available.

Yappy Hour

This Yappy Hour will be at the Bal Harbour shops from 6:00-8:00 PM. It will cost $30, and this entitles participants to food and two drinks. This Yappy Hour is meant to benefit the Humane Society of Greater Miami. Leashed dogs are welcome, but their owners must RSVP by calling 305-749-1842.

Yappy Hour will occur on the Pool Deck of Shooters from 4:00-7:00 PM, and will feature drink specials and raffle prizes. It is intended to benefit No Paw Left Behind. An $8 ticket is good for one complimentary drink, as well as one treat for the dogs.

Party in the Park will take place from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM, and it is a donation of $5 per family or $3 per person. A variety of activities will be presented, such as micro chipping, a silent auction, contests, an obstacle course, pet portraits, demonstrations, exhibits and vendors.

The Lost Angels Adoptions will be set up at the Woof Gang Bakery from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, and they will have canines looking for a new home. Dogs will receive a free treat!

Canine Cancer Awareness Pet Fair

This pet fair will be a free event from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. There will be a pet contest, dog pictures with Santa, vendors, demonstrations, veterinarians and more.

Canine Cancer Walk

Tradewinds Park

Coconut Creek, Florida

The Canine Cancer Walk will begin with registration at 9:30 AM; vendors will also open at this time. The walk itself will take off at 10:30 AM, and walkers have the option of going on the short walk for .75 miles or the long walk for 1.75 miles. Some speakers will give speeches at 11:30 AM, after the walk. To participiate, it will cost $30 for adults and $15 for children 10-17, or free for children below 10 (prices increase if you register after November 21).
