Holiday Toy Sale and Open House

This is a free event, that will last from 10:00 AM-11:30 AM. It is hosted by the Parrot Education and Adoption Center of Pittsburgh. There will be light holiday fare, bird talk and fun things to buy. Part of the proceeds will go to the organization.

This is a creative and informational class hosted by Leigh Ann Hartsfield. It will cover material on ways to improve and maintain your parrot’s attitude, with methods such as nutrition, socialization and stress relief. It will go on from 10:00 AM-12:00 noon.

Foraging Fun and Contest

This will be an information session that will teach you about your parrot’s natural instincts of foraging for food. They will display many foraging ideas so that you can adapt them to your parrot’s domestic lifestyle. They’ll have many items for purchase as well. If you have ideas or methods regarding parrot foraging techniques, then bring them in for the contest. It will go on from 12:00 noon-2:00 PM at the Animall, a pet adoption center.
Atlanta’s Exotic Bird Fair

This is Atlanta’s only exotic bird fair, and they will have many types of birds for purchase, such as canaries, finches, conures, cockatiels and more. There will be bird experts if you have any questions about owning a bird. They will also have discounted cages, toys, feed and supplies. The hours run from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM on Saturday, and 10:00 AM-4:00 PM on Sunday. Admission is $4 for people over 13, and free for children 12 and under.
Parrot Protection Day

This session will cover information about coping with emergency situations with your parrot, as well as what to do if your parrot dies. It will be held by Dr. Clarence Dunning.
