Upcoming Dog Events in Ohio

Those who are spending their summer in Ohio, or who are just visiting the state, have lots of fun opportunities to do things with their dogs. There will be fun activities ranging from Dachshund picnics to dog socials, charities and parties, as well as a workshop to prepare your dog for the loud fireworks noises during Independence Day.

Canine Social

Christ Church

Strongsville, Ohio

June 12

This Canine Social is a free event that will take place from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM. There will be a demonstration area with agility and obedience demos, a canine care tent and contests. Throughout the day they will also have business and organization dog-related exhibits, dog swimming, face painting, prizes, give-aways, dog hikes, dog washes and food.

Fun Dog Show

Presbyterian Church

Warren, Ohio

June 26

The Fun Dog Show will open at 9:00 AM for registration, and then activities shall start at 10:00 AM, and go until 2:00 PM with the final parade. The show is for all sorts of people and all breeds of dogs. There will be 15 different events with awards for each of them like ribbons and medals. They will also have food for sale.

The Pet Party

Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds

Berea, Ohio

June 26

This Pet Party will go on from 11:00 AM-10:00 PM, and there will be showcases of pet suppliers and animal-related organizations. They will set up lots of fun activities, such as attractions, contests, music, food and children’s games. Animals are welcome to come with the family.

This party is a benefit for PAX, which is a food bank for pets in Northeastern Ohio.

Free Workshop with Acme Canine

Atrium Park

Columbus, Ohio

June 27

This morning event will go on from 10:00 AM-noon. There will be several trainers there who will help teach dogs how to play tic-a-tac. It will be an opportunity to test dogs’ skills and review basic commands. This is a free event with no RSVP!

Red, White and Woof Noise Workshop

Acme Canine

Lewis Center, Ohio

June 30

This evening event will take place from 6:30-7:30 PM, and will cost $10. It will go over how to prep your dog for reacting calmly to loud noises, which will be appropriate for the fireworks on July 4th. You must call 740-548-1717 to reserve a spot, and your dog must be vaccinated to attend.

North East Ohio Dachshund Picnic

Plum Creek Park

Kent, Ohio

July 10

This will be the 13th annual Doxie picnic, which will go on from 10:00 AM-5:00 PM. Dachshunds and owners are welcome to come eat and play.
