Upcoming Pet Events in the Carolinas

Lots of crazy dog events are going on this May in the Carolinas, ranging from concerts to contests to fundraiser dog washes!


Tanglewood Park

Clemmons, North Carolina

May 15

Woofstock will be a fun family and dog-friendly event to be held in Tanglewood Park’s amphitheater. The Forsyth Humane Society will put on this event to raise money for the shelter and its animals. It will go on from 1:00-10:30 PM. It costs $10 in advance for adults and $15 at the gate, and $5 for children 4-12, free for children under 4.

There will be a large abundance of activities, ranging from pet themed activities, face painting, as well as live music. Local vendors will be selling food, beer and wine.

Wash N Wags

Camp Bow Wow

Durham, North Carolina

May 15

Wash N Wags is holding a benefit dog wash event for the Doberman Rescue of North Carolina. It will go on from 11:00 AM-3:30 PM, and the price is $10 for small dogs, $15 for medium ones and $20 for the large ones. Apart from clean dogs, there will also be food, vendors and raffle prizes.

Kannapolis Intimidators Bark in the Park

May 16

The Kannapolis Indimidators minor league baseball team will be hosting a Bark in the Park Event, and gates will open at 4:05, and everything will wrap up by 10:00 PM. It costs $7 for a person and dog, and along with getting to watch a live baseball game, there will also be dog oriented games, contests and giveaways. They will also have dog walking areas and bathroom areas set up.

NC Wiener Roast

High Point, North Carolina

May 22

This crazy wiener event is meant to reunite Dachshund rescuers with their former foster parents. It is a free festival that will go on from 10:00 AM-3:30 PM. There will be all sorts of fun activities like wiener races, wieners bobbing for wieners, costume contest, silent auction and dog kissing contest. This is a free event.

Bark in the Park

Lake Carolina’s Dog Park

Columbia, South Carolina

May 22

This event will start with a breakfast at 9:30 AM, and will be catered by the Pupcakes Boutique. It will cost $12.

Then the actual Bark in the Park will start at 10:00 AM and go on until noon. Both of the small and large dog parks will be full of activities, like a splash bath, dog art projects and pooch portraits. There will also be a few contests, like best costume and loudest bark, as well as music. This event costs $10 per dog.
