Upcoming Pet Events

There’s a lot of great pet-friendly activities happening this upcoming weekend around the country. If you’re unsure what to do with your pet or looking for a family day out and about, check out the following events and bring your kids, dogs, and get ready for a day of fun while helping out your local organizations.

Concert for Paws is on October 13, 2011 from 8pm to 11pm and is at the Transit Lounge located at 729 SW 1st Ave in Miami, Florida. Admission is $20 if you buy before the day of the concert or $25 at the door. Get ready to rock out with your dog and have some wine and cheese as well. Performances by Los Bastardos Magnificos, Dreaming in Stereo, and more. The money raised from the concert will benefit Paws 4 Rescue.

Paws in the Park is at Addison Park at 120 E Oak Street in Addison, Il on October 14, 2011. It runs from 6pm to 8pm and is free. All dogs are invited to come and participate in contests, the fashion show, agility courses, scavenger hunts, and go home with a doggie goodie bag. There will be vendors, photography booths, and much more. Come and watch the frisbee show hosted by the Naperville Skydogz! All donations will benefit the Almost Home Foundation.

2nd Annual Rescue Rinse Dog Wash will be on October 15, 2011 from 9am to 12om at Rethinc Advertising located at 4014 N. Goldwater Blvd in Scottsdale, Az. This year’s dog wash is benefitting Lucky Dog Rescue. Your dog will receive a bath, a brushing, and you’ll get some complimentary coffee and pastries. There are going to be contests such as Best Dressed, Coolest Trick, and Most Unique Name!

Great Iowa Pet Expo is on October 15 and 16, 2011 from 10am to 5pm. Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for kids 6 to 12 yrs old. Come on down to the Iowa State Fairgrounds and spend the day shopping, watching the pet contests or participating in them, meet some of the pet rescue organizations in the area, and check out the entertainment. There will be over 1000 booths of pet products, services, and adoption organizations.
