OUR HISTORY

Originally homesteaded by John Tukey in 1850, he & his wife, Linnie Chase, opened the splendidly situated farm to paying guests as Saint’s Rest in 1897. The venture was a success & small cabins were built.

Mary Chase (John’s stepdaughter) modernized the facilities & in 1923 changed the name to Chevy Chase Inn (after Cheviot Hills in England where the family originated). The comfortable atmosphere brought guests back year after year, generation after generation.

The Bailey family took over in 1946 & owned the property until December 2012 when Jeff Betinol & Jenn Dickey became the third & current family to own this historic resort.

Chevy Chase Beach Cabins is located just 10 minutes from downtown Port Townsend (a charming victorian seaport with wonderful restaurants & shops) & only 2 1/2 hours from Seattle.
