Hamden - Pet-Friendly Places
Hamden Dog Park at Bassett. It is located on Waite St., Hamden,CT, off of Whitney Ave. It's a nice big fenced in park where all the dogs meet! There's alot of trees, so it's nice and shady for the dogs, and the people they own! There's benches, and a brick path and patio in memory of lost pets. They opened in 2002, and continue to add new features.
Sleeping Giant State Park is so named because the ridge of the mountain resembles a sleeping giant, lying on his back. Makes sense. There are more than 30 miles of trails from the foot of the giant to his head. Many of the trails are rocky, but climbable. At the top of the mountain Mt. Carmel is an observation tower.
