The Mohonk Preserve encompasses more than 8,000 acres of mountains, forests, streams, ponds, and fields in the beautiful Shawangunks. Your pooch can come with but you must keep him on leash, and he is not allowed in any of the streams or ponds, on the Preserve carriage roads during cross-country ski season, or on the grounds of the neighboring Mohonk Mountain House.

This 42-acre family-owned vineyard with spectacular views of the Shawangunk Mountains, is pet friendly, allowing dogs both inside and outside. You must keep your pooch on a 6-foot leash. Outdoors is where you want to be, on their beautiful patio, or you can bring a blanket and picnic on the lawn. Or once the sun goes down (or in cold weather), gather around the fire pit. Try their wine tasting and on the weekends they offer a limited menu that includes wood-fired pizza

Find yourself a seat out in the bier garden with your pooch; you're going to love this place. It's a pub menu with a hearty spin: Food Truck Tacos (loaded with crispy pork belly and kimchi), Schatzi's Poutine (which involves topping French fries with roasted bone marrow, cheddar cheese curds, and gravy), Schweinshaxe (braised ham hock in a root beer sauerbraten reduction), and more. And 15 beers on tap.

The cafe offers a fantastic array of delicious paninis and sandwiches (Lobster Club, Home-Style Meatloaf, Crisp Eggplant and Portobello), salads (including a Create-Your-Own Chopped Salad, with a choice of 25 different ingredients), empanadas, and tartines (open-face sandwiches). They have a nice open patio where you can enjoy it all with your pet.
