Brooklyn
Great beer bar in Brooklyn. They have a small pet-friendly garden patio in the back and great deals on craft beers. I love coming here for the beer and quite often one can find a dog or two running around picking stray pieces of the popcorn they offer free to customers off the floor.
You can lift a glass of one of Brooklyn Brewery's many offerings with your pooch in tow at one of the tables at their pet-friendly outdoor seating area.
A great local bar in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. They've got a nice pet-friendly backyard space where you and your pooch are welcome to sit, relax, and bend an elbow with one of their many draught beers, signature cocktails, or the prosecco they offer on tap.
Located directly across the street from the Barclays Center, this outpost of Shake Shack is pet friendly, with its very own dog menu. You can treat your canine to a Pooch-ini, a combo of dog biscuits, peanut butter sauce, and vanilla custard. Or go for a Bag o' Bones, five dog biscuits, made for Shake Shake by Bocce Bakery in NYC.
You've got to love a place whose motto is "Beer. Booze. Pool. Dogs." Located in Williamsburg, this is most definitely a hangout bar with a homey atmosphere. The food offered is more of the snacky kind, like Frito pie (chili served in an open bag of Fritos--c'mon, what else could it be?), but does the trick. You and your pooch are welcome to enjoy it together at one of the outdoor pet-friendly tables.
You can find this Shake Shack in the Brooklyn neighborhood of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). Shake Shack offers a dog menu that includes the Pooch-ini (a combo of dog biscuits, peanut butter, and custard) and Bag o' Bones, five biscuits made for Shake Shake by Bocce Bakery.
Shake Shack is dog-friendly, and pups can enjoy a Pooch-ini frozen treat or a bag of doggie biscuits.
Named for the mile-long tidal strait between Brooklyn and Governor's Island, Buttermilk Channel is located in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, and is open for lunch during the week, brunch on the weekend, and dinner all week long. The menu is fabulously eclectic, with mouthwatering choices like Roasted Wild Boar Ribs, Duck Meatloaf, and Warm Lamb and Romaine Salad. Enjoy it all with your canine at one the tables on their pet-friendly sidewalk patio.
We love this self-proclaimed dog-friendly locals bar in Williamsburg. And even though it says "& Cafe" this place is all about the beer, wine, and signature cocktails. The closest you're going to get to food is the stick of celery in their South 4th Bloody Mary. But we're not complaining. Take a seat at one of their pet-friendly outdoor tables and relax with your canine.

We love this eclectic restaurant with a Polish twist! Selections include Cauliflower Wings, Brussels Sprouts Chips, Grilled Cheese and Prosciutto sandwich served with pesto aioli, and Coconut Curry Vegetable Rice Bowl. But you can also majorly get your Eastern European going on with stuffed cabbage rolls, the Pierogi Platter, Polska Kielbasa, Bigos (a very hearty hunter's stew), or get them all with the Tour of Poland. Your canine will love you (even more) if you get a seat at one of the pet-friendly tables on their patio.
Chappaqua
Le Jardin Du Roi offers an eclectic menu combination of French bistro classics and authentic barbecue. They have a lovely pet-friendly outdoor patio.
Cold Spring
A Cold Spring institution with a generous outdoor patio, where you and your pup will be welcomed. Classic pub fare (burgers, meatloaf, chicken pot pie, French onion dip) mixed with a few trendier items, like Rosemary Truffle Fries, Braised Pork Belly, and an appetizer of Bacon and Brussels Sprouts. Even better, it has its own ice cream parlor!
This has been a favorite spot for years. Hands down favorite item on the menu is the Pappardelle with Rabbit and Grappa Sauce. Love that they have oysters on the half shell, and also love the appetizer of sautéed mixed wild mushrooms with garlic and prosciutto. The outdoor seating is lovely, almost garden like, with cafe tables, and your pooch is welcome to join you.
You and your pooch can enjoy the menu and people watch from the sidewalk tables. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner available, made from locally sourced ingredients.
OMG, is this good. Phenomenal breakfast/brunch fare, which is served all day: Beef Hash and Eggs, Biscuits and Gravy, Eggs with Fig and Prosciutto, Chocolate Babka French Toast, Raspberry Orange Cornmeal Pancakes. Not in the breakfast mood? The sandwiches are killer too: Salmon BLT, Goat Cheese and Honey Baguette, Fish Tacos. The tables on the porch are pet friendly but come early because this place almost always has a line.
The pet-friendly outdoor seating area of this restaurant is a fully covered patio with spectacular views across the Hudson River to Storm King Mountain. Enjoy one of their brick oven pizzas or go with one of their other Italian, steak, or seafood offerings.
Cornwall-on-Hudson
This is an undeveloped park that has some amazing views of the Hudson if you are comfortable with wilderness hiking (meaning, no obvious trails; you have to follow trail markers). It's also strenuous. But when you get to the top you have insane vistas up and down the river, including across to the remains of Bannerman's Island. Your pup can come with, on a 6-foot leash.
Croton on Hudson
Sushi, hand rolls, hibachi, fried noodles, fried rice, tempura, you enjoy all of it with your pup at one Sushi Samurai's pet-friendly tables on the patio.
Cutchogue
Your pup is welcome to accompany you on leash on the outside grounds of this beautiful North Folk winery located in a renovated repurposed historic barn.
East Hampton
At Babette's, the ingredients are organic and locally sourced whenever possible. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the menu choices can include Smoked Salmon Benedict, Moroccan Spiced Turkey Burger, and Pan-Seared Montauk Sea Scallops. You and your best friend are welcome on their pet-friendly patio.
Ask for garden seating and you can enjoy the menu with your pooch at one of their pet-friendly outdoor tables. Enjoy brunch, lunch, or dinner, or simply a glass of wine with one of their delicious appetizers, like the oysters on the half shell, duck confit, or crispy calamari with lemon aioli.
The menu here is a delicious mash-up of English pub, American steakhouse, and French bistro, with choices like steak tartare, moules frites, and braised short ribs. You and your canine are welcome to dine on their pet-friendly patio.
Elmsford
Come for the beer but stay for the food! This brewery has a fabulous menu of flavor forward choices to pair with their brewed-on site beers, like Hanoi-Style Fries served with a spicy sambal mayo, Glazed Shrimp Bahn Mi, and Thai Baby Back Ribs. While your pup can't join you on a tour of the brewery, he can hang with you at the pet-friendly outdoor seating.
Fishkill
Viscount has a huge selection of wines and liquors. The staff is very knowledgeable and they love dogs! So visit them and pick out a Pinot with your pup.
They are actually in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., but it's just 2 minutes from all the Fishkill hotels, heading north on Route 9.
