As you and your dog frolic through 175 acres of countryside, you can feel great knowing that your camp fee is funding the rescue program at Glen Highland Farm. Your vacation dollars go directly to the dogs! Sweet Border Collie Rescue is on premises, housing up to 40 dogs waiting for their forever homes. The rescue effort has led to the successful rehoming of over 1,600 border collies to date.

We love the cozy restaurant at this intimate little inn tucked up in the Catskills. Eat outside a table on one of the porches, and your pooch can come with. The menu can include Lamb Bolognese, Smoked Duckling, and Pork Shank Osso Buco. It's all good!

The Mohonk Preserve encompasses more than 8,000 acres of mountains, forests, streams, ponds, and fields in the beautiful Shawangunks. It's a wonderful place to go hiking and you can take your choice of easier or more strenuous walks. Your pooch can come with but you must keep him on leash, and he is not allowed in any of the streams or ponds, on the Preserve carriage roads during cross-country ski season, or on the grounds of the neighboring Mohonk Mountain House.
The cafe offers a fantastic array of delicious paninis and sandwiches (Lobster Club, Home-Style Meatloaf, Crisp Eggplant and Portobello), salads (including a Create-Your-Own Chopped Salad, with a choice of 25 different ingredients), empanadas, and tartines (open-face sandwiches). They have a nice open patio where you can enjoy it all with your pet.

Seastreak Ferry Rides allow dogs on all their commuter ferries. Ferries depart from Pier 11 (Wall Street) and East 34th Street in Manhattan and Atlantic Highlands and Highlands in New Jersey. Dogs of all sizes must be on a short leash and must ride outside irregardless of the weather -- the only exception being if the dog is very small and is in a carrier. The ferries operate daily between Manhattan and New Jersey and take about 45 minutes each way. Roundtrip is $20 for adults, kids half price and dogs free.
