Pet Friendly Bars

The first thing we do when we get to a new place with our pet is head for a pet friendly bar or brewery. I know we said that about restaurants/cafes but we’re liars. We usually hit bars first and find someplace to eat later. That’s because bars seem even more receptive to pets and therefore are good to go to first to get comfortable bringing your animal someplace else other than your hotel room.

Whether sipping on a Coke or a beer or a Martini, sitting at a bar with your bare feet resting gently on your dog is one of the most calming of experiences we know of and one we look forward to when we first arrive anywhere. From that point on, all is possible and you begin to realize that the boundaries and possibilities are limitless when you take a pet to a new and yet-unexplored destination.

You've got to love a place whose motto is "Beer. Booze. Pool. Dogs." Located in Williamsburg, this is most definitely a hangout bar with a homey atmosphere. The food offered is more of the snacky kind, like Frito pie (chili served in an open bag of Fritos--c'mon, what else could it be?), but does the trick. You and your pooch are welcome to enjoy it together at one of the outdoor pet-friendly tables.
