Leave all your worries (but not your pet!) behind and come on down to the Keys! We've got plenty of pet-friendly lodgings--whether you're looking for a hotel, motel, inn, cottage, or bed and breakfast--from Key Largo to Key West.
Of course you're going to want to hit the beach with your pet, so we've put together a guide to the pet-friendly beaches of the Florida Keys.
For cat owners and lovers, you can't go to the Florida Keys without visiting Ernest Hemingway's home on Key West, where he lived and wrote for ten years. In addition to it being a museum, it is also the sanctuary of more than 60 cats, many of them polydactyl (six-toed) and descended from a six-toed tomcat given to Papa Hemingway by an acquaintance who was a sea captain.
The Keys are a fun place to visit all year round and the annual weeklong Fantasy Fest held the last week of October is a good reason to head on down. There are a ton of activities but one you and your pet can do together is the Pet Masquerade and Parade. You and your pet can register to participate or just enjoy the crazy creativity of it.
