Great place and amazing friendly staff.

Funny to ask if my room had a patio when it was blocked off by a couch. Beds need to be replaced IMO. Figure out why your fire alarm goes off in an electrical storm.

This is an older facility with paint pealing off the walls in the hallway and windows that have broken ropes. There "stylish ". Beds are so high I had to borrow a step stool to get in. Staff is very friendly

We stayed for our elopement and the staff had made it special for us. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The room was spacious and warm. Would return for an anniversary trip.

Loved the atmosphere of an old time hotel and the hospitality. The room was spacious and was especially grateful for the complimentary breakfast.

The Simsbury 1820 House is such a classic, quiet inn. There’s also a very good bar and restaurant. Comfort and good dining give the 1820 House an edge over many other options to stay in the Hartford area.

We had no large towers for showering in our room, only small hand towels..

The female desk person was very nice and helpful....best part of whole experience....the place itself need quite a bit of maintenance.....there are water stain on ceilings, all the walls have peeling wall paper everywhere....the trim is smashed all throughout the building.....it smelled clean out in the hallway....when i entered my room it smelled like old wet moldy carpet which immediately hit me.....the furniture had pieces of wood missing and ripped off....the bed post frames were dusty....the wallpaper was peeling at seems and where it met switches and outlets....the bathroom fixtures looked old and dingy....there was blood on the curtain in the bathroom....we talked to the front desk monitor and she quickly helped us to another room which was appreciated....this room, under the bed topping..the soft part was blood stain again...we checked in at 11pm we checked out at out 1230am....

Great place to stay. Friendly staff and quiet room. Coffee/tea available 24 hours.
