Received 24-hour notice the elevator was out of order. Best option was 3rd floor room. Room was clean but needed update and repairs. Pool was also out of order. Staff was profesional and courteous.

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Normal, Illinois, and I must say my experience was quite disappointing. The main issue during my visit was that both elevators were out of service. This presented a significant challenge, especially as I was traveling with someone who has a disability. Navigating multiple flights of stairs was not only inconvenient but also unsafe and inconsiderate for any guests who may have mobility issues. In addition to the elevator situation, I noticed that the hotel is in dire need of updating. The decor felt dated, and the rooms lack the modern amenities one would expect from a hotel in this price range. The overall atmosphere seemed worn, which detracted from the comfort and enjoyment of our stay. While the staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating, service alone can’t rectify the underlying issues. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my stay did not meet the standards typically associated with Hampton Inns. I hope the management addresses these problems, as it could be a great place to stay with a little investment in maintenance and modernization. For now, I cannot recommend this hotel, especially for anyone traveling with accessibility needs.

Good trip

Frequent traveler to the area and have stayed here once before. Both times I found the beds lacked good support and room temperature fluctuated a lot making a too hot/chilly cycle all night. Worst, we paid the full posted price but the hot tub was out of order and the elevator was broken. Of course they kept my disabled husband and I on the 3rd floor making life more difficult than it had to be. No help or compensation was offered. We won't be staying there again!

We have stayed at the property several times through the past 10 years. This time wasn't as good as past times. We were notified by phone earlier in the day on the day we were to arrive that the elevators weren't working and given the choice to stay or not with free cancellation. We kept the reservation only because we had already paid through Expedia and didn't want the hassle of trying to figure that part out when we were traveling and didn't have time to find another hotel. First floor rooms would have been our first choice, but we were at least able to get 2 second floor rooms. The biggest inconvenience was having to go to the stairs at the end of the first floor hallway and carry the luggage up. Then go half way down the second floor hall to get to our rooms. Check-in was ok, but I've had better experiences in the past and the employee was coughing quite a bit when handling the cards. Later in the evening when we returned my key wasn't working so I had to wave at the employee sitting in the lounge area to open the door. The rooms were fine and clean. Aside from being out of syrup the breakfast was good.

We always stay at a hampton, but i was a little disappointed this time. The elevator was not working, the hot tub was in the process of being repaired so it was unusable as well. The ice machine on our floor was also not operational so you had to use the stairs to go to the next floor to get ice.
