I had a reservation at the property in Sutherlin, Oregon, last week. Drove three hours there to meet with a local business owner. Meet was cut short due to some emergency issues at his diesel shop shortly after I arrived that morning. So my work couldn't be completed and we rescheduled for next month. That said, I stopped at the Hartford Lodge up the street to cancel that evening’s room reservation. The manager said that was my problem, not theirs and I’d still be charged for the room. So I drove three hours back to my office—and rec’d a “Thank You For Staying At Best Western” statement the following morning. That will be the last “Thank You.” I will not make reservations with ANY Best Western if that’s how they treat business customers… Bruce Smith, Smith Editorial Services, South Beach, Oregon.

Ants. Otherwise great, but the abundance of ants made it difficult to sleep comfortably without constantly worrying.
Front desk said they knew they had an ant problem, but they had no traps, no ant spray, nothing on hand to deal with it.
We were extremely careful not to leave any food out. Didn’t help.
