Mattresses were in terrible condition and should have been replaced a couple of years ago. The room had a strong unpleasant odor. The toilet only flushed intermittently.

This place is awful! The staff is super nice, but that’s about the only thing this place has going for it. The first room I checked in for had poop on the toilet rim and smelled so strongly of urine that I had to be moved. The next room had a musty ash tray smell that was bearable with the window open. We've stayed at John Muir hotel in Martinez before and noticed they have done some nice upgrades to the bathroom. We always feel comfortable there and it suits our needs. Unfortunately the elevator wasn't working and we had to carry our luggage upstairs. Thank goodness it was only one floors. The staff is very friendly and it's a good location, close to a shopping plaza.
