1) Mostly clean although my wife said she noticed some areas that could have been a bit clearner.
2) I don't really blame the staff member for this but I came off the elevator and asked if there were vending machines on the property, I was told there were not. I did not see the vending area near the desk and had missed that when I checked in. I then walked quite a ways to find a soda when you had soda for sale right there at the front desk. I think it might be helpful to train your staff to answer the question that is really being asked. I didn't ask about vending machines because I wanted to find a vending machine. I wanted to buy what might be in a vending machine -- a soda.

The hotel and in particular the room seemed worn. Toilet had to be flushed a lot to stop running, and no hot water in the sink

My first impression was good. Check in was smooth and early which was appreciated, unfortunately the people in the room avove me were the absolute worse. They was so much banging and bumping around like children running around and/or wrestling. Aside from that, the bed was very firm and pillows(although offering firmness options) were all bad.
If you actually need to sleep undisturbed, I'd advise you request a room on the 4th floor.
