Baymont by Wyndham Helen

A Dump dirty moldy paint peeling off wall, bugs.
Worst room ever.
Disappointed
We arrived at the Baymont to find that the front desk clerk did not know how to do a reservation off of Expedia. He was very inexperienced, but very nice and polite. The inexperience was due to a lack of training. We were given a "handicapped accessible" room. There was a bathtub instead of a shower, a toilet that had handicapped bars around it, making it impossible for my husband, who is large, to use the toilet. We went to turn on the air conditioner, there was no light and the air conditioning was not working. The manager was very kind when the young man called him/her, as they did kindly upgrade out room. We then were moved to the 2nd floor upgrade suite, which my husband struggled getting up the stairs. I, also, with a bad back and in need of a knee replacement, struggled too. At least the toilet was an actual high handicapped toilet. The tub was impossible for my husband to get into due to the height of the bathtub and depth. I struggled to get in and out due to my bad knee. The room was basically clean, but the carpet turned our feet black so we had to wear our shoes because the carpet was so dirty. We didn't even try to eat breakfast because of the boxes and a not very clean area. We expect more of a Baymount by Wyndham. We have stayed in other places that were very nice. We were really disappointed in the room and motel in general. I would never recommend anyone to stay there in the condition it is in in a resort town! Nothing appeared to be very clean.
Nice clean rooms.
Staff very helpful.
Hotel room issues.
The staff was very welcoming at check in and checkout. The hotel room itself was below standard in my opinion. The toilet was running very slow when I arrived and finally clogged the morning I left. One bed pillow has something that looks like ketchup stain on it. So it obviously had not been changed. The hotel room door was difficult to close and needs to be replaced. I was only there for two nights, so I did not complain about these things.

Property and staff okay. Could use a renovation, but the problem seems to be the clientele that for some reason have to damage the rooms. Could use better breakfast, sharing a milk container didn't seem safe. Overall, I would recommend them as they have a good price point for the overly expensive Helen area. Save your money here, your going to need it.

Room was not as nice as the pictures on the web. Breakfast was not nice at all. Pastries not even taken out of the larger box!

The hotel while clean is very dated. The doors are outside and the locks are older age tricky. The key card was not consistent. It was in a very convenient location and I would recommend for couples and families. It's just not the average Baymont level I'm used to. It's walking distance to the center of town and right in front of a small city park on the river. There are no amenities offered. There are no extra fluffy towels or bedding. But they are clean and comfortable.

Parking free and plentiful. Within walking distance of multiple restaurants. Just a tad outside walking distance of downtown Helen. The beds were extremely comfortable. So much so that I missed the continental breakfast due to sleeping in.
