Great Hotel
A very pleasant and professional checkin followed by a very clean room.
Clean modern rooms, good breakfasts, friendly staff.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The rooms were clean and modern and the staff was very accommodating to our needs. Our grandson was having open heart surgery and our daughter's family, who was in the next room, was so distracted by that they kept losing their keys. Staff was very cheerful and understanding of their plight and promptly and happily made them new ones. I thank them for their kindness and understanding.

The main goal of any hotel, motel, inn, air bnb should be to provide guests with a restful night(s) sleep. This was not possible in the room I was given. It was on the second floor facing Main St. I was constantly awakened by sirens, horns, loud car exhaust, and loud music coming from cars. My first night (a Friday) I got maybe two hours of uninterrupted sleep after a 10 hour drive. I spent the next day of my visit exhausted and trying to get some rest. The next night of my visit was marginally better, but my sleep was still interrupted by the sounds mentioned above. I brought this to the attention of the person at the desk and was treated as if this was just part of the experience. No offer to change my room to a quieter part of the hotel. I have stayed in hotels in NYC, Singapore, Hong Kong, SF, and many other locations in cities larger than Charlottesville where the same noises exist but have never been awakened and kept awake because the rooms were better insulated for sound. The only way I knew an emergency vehicle was driving by was the flashing lights in the window. If you stay in this hotel, do yourself a favor and insist on being assigned a room that is NOT facing Main St. For the money I paid for a two-night stay, this issue is unacceptable and the worst hotel of experience of my life. The lack of attentiveness of the staff to this issue compounded my aggravation and frustration. Ridiculous is another word that comes to mind.

Overall we had a very good experience. The day clerk recommended a very good restaurant. We stayed 2 nights. We were disappointed to learn they clean the rooms every other day. We ran out of towels (front desk was accommodating), and other items. The breakfast offered was average at best. We would stay there again due to the convenience of access to the UVA medical facilities.
