I stayed at the Hampton Inn South Kingstown, RI for five nights at the end of May, 2025. I made my reservation three weeks ahead of time. When I arrived around 6:15pm, there was no one at the desk. I waited for about 15 min. before some one came to the counter. I was given a room on the third floor. When I opened the door, the bed was unmade, there were towels and trash on the floor and a dirty shower and unflushed toilet. I went back down to the desk and the man apologized and gave me a clean room. This room was clean and comfortable. The main issue I had during my five night stay was that I never got ANY room service. Although I didn't need my room cleaned everyday, I never received any fresh towels or sheets and never had my trash emptied. I kept thinking that room service would be coming the next day so I didn't say anything. When I checked out, I mentioned this to the women at the front desk. Her exact words were " if you wanted room service, you have to ask for it, there's nothing I can do about it". I have worked in customer service and been traveling around the U.S. for more than 25 years and have never heard of such a thing. In the time that I was staying there, I was never greeted once when entering or leaving and the desk was often completely unattended. I chose this hotel because it had good reviews, but I left feeling like they had no interest in their guests and no concern for customer service.

Do not use this booking site.
The hotel itself was great but this third party booking site is sleazy. They make you think you are booking directly with the hotel, only to find out that there is no way to modify the reservation at all and your Hilton Honors account won’t be credited even though they have a field to enter it in. If I had paid closer attention (my fault), I would have realized that the same non refundable rate is available on Hilton.com. Book direct!

The hotel was clean and had up to date facilities. The staff was friendly and helpful. Overall experience was a good one. Also the chocolate chip cookies were very good.

Kevin did CPR until EMT arrived. He’s so brave and kind. Exemplary employee.

Great Experience!
The check in staff was exceptionally helpful in providing us with a dog friendly room on the first floor! Jane at the front desk went above and beyond in helping us. Super kudos to her for outstanding customer service! Liz who ran the morning breakfast room was so friendly and helpful! Not only was she attentive to the needs of her guests, she made a delicious pot of oatmeal! Housekeeping staff was extremely helpful and took the time to ensure we had the clean towels and other items we needed. We really appreciated their efforts to keep us comfortable. All in all, we had a great experience and will certainly be returning the next time we visit Rhode Island!
