Having been a regular guest when this was formerly a Kimpton property (Palomar Hotel) I was disappointed to see a slow decline in the standards of decor, cleanliness and guest service - and all charged at a premium rate. The location remains great, the facilities and appearance of the rooms much in need of refurbishment.

I was in town for homecoming weekend with my family and we stayed at The Royal Sonesta and it was absolutely lovely. The hotel is clean, the staff was professional and best of all it was centrally located. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
