We couldn’t have asked for a better stay at BlueBird Lake Placid. The location is absolutely perfect—just steps away from Main Street and Mirror Lake, making it easy to explore everything the town has to offer. The hotel itself feels like the ideal mountain retreat, with a design that captures the cozy charm of a cabin while still being modern and comfortable. It struck the perfect balance of rustic and stylish and made our trip feel truly special. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Lake Placid!

First, the staff was amazing! Extremely polite and helpful, gracious and efficient. Simply Amazing; a true Delight! However...
There wasn't a coffee maker in the room. First time I stayed in a hotel/motel where a coffee maker wasn't available in my room. As a "need the coffee to make the coffee" kind of morning person, no coffee maker available in my room was, frankly, disruptive (not to mention, challenging).
There weren't any extra blankets or pillows. My husband is a heavy snorer. I was delighted to find that the sofa would be an option for me, if snoring necessitated needing to leave the bed. Imagine getting up in the night, headed for the sofa, to discover that there weren't any extra blankets. And, no, the sofa was not a sleeper sofa, and I didn't expect that it would be. But it would be comfortable to sleep on. Had I had blankets to do so with (Husband needs AC to run, room to be cool, to sleep. Too cool for me to sleep without blankets. And, for me, it is more important that he sleep, as he is the one doing the driving).
My biggest complaint: hotel tried to charge my card, 2 days before check in. 2 DAYS!! Not 2 hours; 2 DAYS! The fella at the counter said that the hotel does that "when it's a 3rd party card". Third party card? All Cards Are 3rd Party!!!!! Even if paying with a gift card. Not an acceptable practice, Laurel Lake Placid!!
I'll not reserve/stay again, simply because they tried to charge before check in. And that is a shame: The Staff Were Amazing!

Great location. Staff were nice, view was pretty, everything was clean. A lot of the space felt freshly renovated. Large common area seemed cozy. Check in was easy. The outside of building is painted black, looks like it was a lighter color underneath and there weren’t enough coats of black paint to fully cover it, so it looked a little run down from the outside. Definitely not run down inside. The room was nice — the shower has a half wall kind of thing (not a full door or curtain) which I didn’t love, but not a big deal. Someone else’s long hair was on the bag holding the hair dryer, not the end of the world. The only really bad part — we woke up during the night a dozen times from a terrible metallic screeching noise. I had tried messing with the window to fix it, couldn’t figure it out — finally at 1am, short of asking to switch rooms, my fiance slammed the window closed super hard and the sound disappeared. Had to do it to both windows. Lastly, after a long day I wanted to watch some tv and go to sleep early. Some of the buttons on the remote didn’t work. I couldn’t screencast from my phone or log into any streaming apps. Ok, we’ll just watch cable then — but for some reason it was buffering and skipping the whole time. Oh well.
