Great hotel. The view of the city of lovely. The customer service was great. I enjoy my St Patrick weekend at The Drakes with my friends.

This was the second time in as many years that a train delay required me to layover in Chicago. And on as many occasions The Drake has handled my rather short notice need exceptionally well! It is a GRAND Hotel with a rich history! The rooms are well furnished, the staff is excellent, close to downtown shopping and eateries and the atmosphere is magnificent, particularly during the holiday season, which, on both occasions, I stayed. I can't say enough great things about the hotel. Just let me say, instead of having to make an "emergency stay" there, next time I'll "plan" a stay. Also, a VERY special shout out to the young server at the Coq d'Or who picked up my jacket with my wallet in it and took it to hotel Security! You ABSOLUTELY saved my trip! I hope you are still there when I next return. I wish I remembered your name so I could make my thank you personal. He knows who he is and so I hope my THANK YOU reaches him!

The service was exemplary; everyone from the doorman to the waitresses to the maids was full of holiday cheer and graciousness. Your hotel itself was dressed up like a Currier and Ives painting; delightful to stroll through and enjoy the holiday exhibits. Since my sister lives across the street at 950 Michigan the Drake is where we'll stay whenever we return to Chicago. Congratulations for adding significantly to our best holiday stay ever.

We were excited for our first real trip to Chicago. We’ve traveled extensively but never to this golden gem of the Midwest.Staying at The Drake was part of our excitement. It’s a grand ole beauty but is a little tired and could use a little pampering. Don’t let that keep you from staying here though, it’s still very beautiful and high tea was one of the highlights! One teeny suggestion I would make is, a full length mirror in each room.

I have been coming to The Drake over 25 years. I came every year in April to meet my friend from Indiana and we would stay in a room with two bathrooms. Loved it! We came on Friday and left on Sunday and loved having cocktails and later night drinks in the lounge Palm Court. Loved watching the dancing. I brought my husband this year and we have enjoyed our stay. Room 214 was very good!

The rooms smelt extremely like mold. The sofas were ripped and worn in both bedrooms. The beds and bedding were old and need to be replaced they had musty odor to them. Carpet needs to be replaced. Basically the rooms need everything yo be replaced. The staff was great! The lobby was beautiful but you get in elevator yo your room and it’s a different story once you get off elevator.

View from room is great. Bed linens fine. Staff very good in Oak cafe and condor. Doorman very very helpful. Roberta Klein.
