Great old style building and very convenietly located for riding the cable cars around town. There were also some great options close by for drinks and eats. My only conplaint was that the breakfast was a bit lacking.

Nice old hotel in a very walkable part of town. The room was clean and spacious enough. Staff was very friendly. The area was a bit noisy with street traffic and people, so keep the windows closed or bring earplugs. Hotel was safe, it's a few blocks up from union square (the sketchy part of town). Free breakfast was nice. I would recommend this hotel for the price.

Arrived hotel drenched at 230pm. Was told C/Kin at 3pm. No empathy from staff despite he saw we were wet from the rain.
Returned at 305pm and was told to wait for a while as changing shift. Totally unprofessional.
Thereafter we were finally called for registration and throughout the process he was music humming away.

We knew the size of the room and is a vintage property which is fine by us. The room assigned to us the mattress was sagging, deep indentation and lumpy.
Saving grace is the complimentary Bfast.
There are properties which are nearer to Union Square and Powell Station within the same price range and you can avoid the steep hill to Vintage Hotel.
